Scientific policy

Our scientific project proposes a mixed approach of mobility to understand it and help public decision aiming at making it more compatible with sustainable development:

  • To develop observation methods, both quantitative and qualitative (statistics and sociology)
  • To analyze evolutions of mobility, identify their determinants, through the use of geographical and econometrical tools
  • To diagnose impacts of mobility, both for environment and social issues
  • To evaluate transportation and road safety policies aiming in particular at reducing those impacts, through an economical and psychological approach

The aim is to develop synergies in the field of observation and analysis concerning the evolutions of mobility and main externalities, as much on the environment side (global and local pollutions) than of that of road safety. Socioeconomical and psychological determinants are searched to identify action levers to promote behavior change aiming at a more sustainable development.
